Imperial Metal Services Acquires Nova Steel Dorval Division

Imperial Metal Services (IMS) is pleased to announce the acquisition of Nova Steel’s Dorval Division, a specialized cutting and slitting centre for cold-rolled and galvanized steel located in Dorval, Quebec, less than two kilometres from our Pointe-Claire facility. The acquisition became effective on March 27, 2026.

Nova Steel, a well-established Canadian steel processor, made the strategic decision to divest this division. IMS was selected as the ideal partner to continue its legacy.

The acquisition is a strong strategic fit, as both companies share similar values and culture. By combining expertise and significantly expanding capacity, IMS is positioned to deliver enhanced capabilities, broader offerings, and greater value to customers.
